How It Works
How It Works
iTakeout.co.uk is a brand new website offering you the opportunity to order takeout food online! Browse menus, build your order and even pay for it all online using one central website.
Using iTakeout could not be easier. What's really cool is that the more you use the site, the quicker and easier it becomes to get your favourite food delivered to your door.
Getting Started
To get the ball rolling we need to know a little about where you live. We get this information from your
postcode and once you have entered it we will show you the restaurants that we are partnering near you.
This screen will also tell you things like whether they accept online payment, whether you
can collect from the restaurant yourself, cost of delivery (if any) and other useful information.
Once you have selected a restaurant that you like, view its menu and you can start adding items to your order. To do this, simply click the green arrows next to an item and it will appear instantly in your order window. If you change your mind about an item, click the minus arrow next to it and when the quantity hits zero it will disappear.
While creating your order you can navigate back and browse other restaurants by clicking on 'Select Restaurant' from the progress bar or using your browser's back button. You can only order from one restaurant at a time and so you'll be prompted to clear your current order if you want to start ordering with another restaurant.

Checking Out...
Once you are happy with your order, click the 'Checkout' button and you'll be given two options. Either you
can sign in (if you have used the site before) or click on 'New Customer' to create a new account. You don't have
to create an account to order with us, but doing so brings many advantages such as remembering all of your details
so you don't have to type it in every time.
If you log in, the site will automatically apply all the settings you used when you last ordered (including delivery address and payment method). You have the opportunity to change that of course on the order confirmation page, which you are taken straight to.
New customers will be prompted to enter a delivery address, or select to collect it from the restaurant. Then details of a credit / debit card, or select to pay in cash when the delivery arrives or at the restaurant.
The order confirmation screen shows exactly what you are ordering, where you are ordering from and gives you a chance to amend your order before confirming it. Once you have confirmed, the order is sent over immediately to the restaurant and cooking will begin immediately. The site will give you a rough estimate for when your food will be ready (the restaurant may notify you if this changes). A copy of the order is also emailed to you for your records and we also recommend you print the final confirmation page too.
Rate Your Order
Once you have ordered food from iTakeout.co.uk logged in users will have the opportunity to rate the restaurant you ordered from. This is a great way of telling other users when you had a great meal - and even when you didn't.
What! A credit card fee?
We know that nobody likes to pay to use their credit card. However, thanks to our friends at the bank, it does cost money to process them. For three years iTakeout has payed this cost for our customers but unfortunately the time us come where we have to pass on some of this cost to you. So, it costs a small fee to use your card on iTakeout. It's about the cost of the free poppadom or prawn crackers that will often find with delivery, so it's not all bad.
Problems?
Any problems with your order will be handled by the restaurant as if you ordered directly with them over the phone. Their phone number is on this site and will be present on any emails or order confirmation screens. Should you have any problems or questions about your food please contact the restaurant directly. Don't forget to quote your iTakeout Order Reference as that will help them know which order you are talking about.
